The world’s biggest tech companies have posted their quarterly earnings this week, and one of the most obvious findings is mobile really does matter – more than anything.
The companies that are going from strength to strength — Apple and Facebook — are the ones with the most sophisticated mobile strategies.
Facebook’s, mobile ad revenue doubled compared to the same time last year, breaking $2 billion for the first time. Apple’s quarterly revenue was higher than Google’s revenue for all of 2014.
The companies seeing declines, missing expectations, or falling short —Google, Alibaba, and Microsoft—are the ones that can’t quite make mobile work for them.
