April 14, 2025The Global Gaming League (GGL) has secured $10 million for its Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) round and designated T-Pain as Strategy Director.
Solyco Capital led the funding round, and the firm hopes to use the new funding to systemize and monetize the world’s largest untapped entertainment audience—the over 3 billion people who play video games worldwide.
Money Generating Platform For Gamers
The Global Gaming League (GGL) is a pioneering multi-title gaming league featuring celebrity-owned teams. Each team has four players from diverse backgrounds, including influencers, actors, athletes, artists, and casual and professional gamers. These players compete in live events, playing various games across different genres.

GGL was founded by Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum music producer and entrepreneur Clinton Sparks in partnership with music icon T-Pain and tech visionary Jeff Hoffman (Priceline, UBid, Booking.com).
The platform is a gaming entertainment league that combines every style of play and every kind of player. It’s multigenerational and multicultural and intersects gaming, music, sports, fashion, celebrity, competition, and culture.
“There are over 3 billion gamers around the world,” said Clinton Sparks, Founder and CEO of GGL. “But there’s still no centralized platform that gives everyday players the spotlight—while authentically connecting brands, celebrities, and competition in a way that’s truly entertaining. That’s where GGL comes in.
The GGL enables players to earn a salary through the global nomination submission process. Gamers can log on to globalgamingleague.com and sign up. Since this announcement, the league has over a quarter of a million entries to play for one of the celebrity-owned teams.
“46% of gamers are female, colleges give scholarships for gaming now. And the average gamer is 36 years old, despite most thinking it’s only for kids. Gaming is a faster, cheaper, and safer path to success than traditional sports,” T-Pain, GGL Director of Strategy, said in a press release.

GGL matches will take place in Vegas, the home of the Global Gaming League. The gaming company’s new studio facility, The Campus, powered by Vū, is expected to elevate the city’s connection with the video gaming community. With the largest wrap-around digital screen in the Western USA, it is the most technologically advanced studio in the area.
GGL’s Academy to Create a Pipeline of Gamers
The launch of the gaming league also includes the GGL Academy, which focuses on empowering advancement through gaming education, career pathways, and scholarship opportunities. The academy will build, train, and mentor aspiring gamers, creators, and professionals across the gaming, entertainment, and tech industries.
Currently, the academy has partnered with New York University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Syracuse to build a direct pipeline from the classroom to the arena.

“I came out of retirement for this. Because this isn’t just about gaming—it’s about access. GGL has the power to connect cultures, build international bridges, uplift underserved communities and close age gap,” Jeff Hoffman, GGL Chairman of the Board says.
