These trailblazers have spent decades making waves in their industries and continue to thrive in their 50s and beyond. 

Representing a range of fields, the list shines a spotlight on artists, investors, entrepreneurs, and more. From funding innovative startups to leveraging their wealth for social impact, these women are leading the way. Here, we spotlight the remarkable Black women who made the list.

Alicia Boler Davis

After starting her career at General Motors, Engineer Alicia Boler Davis became the first Black woman to serve as a plant manager. She then rose to executive vice president for global manufacturing. Later, she moved to Amazon, where she was a senior executive overseeing global fulfillment during COVID-19. Boler Davis was also the first Black woman to be part of the exclusive “S-Team” leadership circle.

She was named Alto’s CEO in 2022. Under her leadership, the digital pharmacy operated nationwide mail delivery, courier, and pickup services in 12 metropolitan areas. Paulus Holdings recently acquired the pharmaceutical company in a deal that valued Alto between $1 billion – $1.5 billion. Boler is now the president of Ford Pro, the commercial fleet division of the automaker.

Yvonne Greenstreet

Greenstreet’s 30-year career began in London as an OB-GYN. She spent 18 years at GlaxoSmithKline, rising to Senior Vice President and Chief of Strategy for Research and Development. From 2011 to 2013, she led Medicines Development at Pfizer as Senior Vice President, serving on the executive team of a $16 billion division.

Greenstreet joined Alnylam in 2016 as COO, became President and COO in 2020, and took the helm as CEO and Director in 2021. With a track record of earning FDA approval for six medicines, she’s currently advancing 25 others for conditions like Alzheimer’s, diabetes, hypertension, and Huntington’s disease.

Montgomery Rice

In July 2014, Montgomery Rice became the sixth president of Morehouse School of Medicine, a historically Black medical institution, and its first female leader. With a distinguished career, she’s held various faculty and leadership positions, including founding the Center for Women’s Health Research at Meharry Medical College. 

Her achievements have earned her numerous honors, such as the Horatio Alger Award, the Dean Griffin Community Service Award from the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Girls Inc. Smart Award, and the National Medical Association’s OB/GYN 2019 Legend of the Section Award.

Robin Washington

As President and Chief Operating Officer at Salesforce, Washington oversees key areas including business strategy, global finance, employee success, and marketing. She’s also been on Salesforce’s board since 2013.

With 25 years of experience, she’s held roles at companies like Gilead Sciences, Hyperion Solutions, and PeopleSoft. Additionally, Washington serves on the board of directors of Alphabet, showcasing her extensive leadership expertise.
