Fearless Fund CEO and founding partner Arian Simone has launched Fearless Freedom, an initiative to advance economic inclusion
What Fearless Freedom is About
This initiative is coming on the back of the legal battle Fearless Fund faced starting in August 2023. The Fund’s grant program for Black women entrepreneurs faced legal challenges over racial exclusion and was forced to shut down.

Introducing the initiative in an Instagram video, Arian Simone said, “Storms don’t break us—they build us,” she said in the video. “Fearless Freedom is a bold global advocacy initiative to combat economic inequality and champion true economic freedom.”
Fearless Freedom will be a united effort to expand financial inclusion across borders. Designed as more than just a campaign, according to her Instagram post, the initiative will blend storytelling, policy conversations, and creative programming to challenge the systems that restrict access to capital and opportunity.
She shared some notable statistics in her Instagram video that highlight a pressing issue. For instance, 1.4 billion people worldwide remain unbanked. Additionally, women of color are highly active entrepreneurs but receive relatively little funding. Black entrepreneurs globally also face significant challenges, receiving less than 1% of venture capital. These figures underscore the existing disparities and the need for further attention.

The Next Steps and How to Participate
In her post, Simone stressed that these disparities aren’t limited to the U.S., noting that “they are global issues that require a collective and intentional response.” “Fearless Freedom is our global declaration, a refusal to be silenced, erased, or sidelined,“ she said.
“We’re not just funding change anymore, we’re amplifying the voices that have always driven it. This initiative is about power, presence, and rewriting the rules of who gets seen, supported, and heard. August 2nd was once about legal resistance.
From now on, it marks something else: a day of fearless expression and global visibility,” she added. To drive the initiative, Simone is encouraging individuals and communities to take part in the movement by:

- Joining the email list for programming updates
- Attending the upcoming Fearless Freedom convening, which will bring together community leaders, policymakers, and advocates
