Operations has long been male-dominated, with women making up just 24% of the U.S. STEM workforce, according to MIT research.. At Amazon, however, women now represent 49.2% of the operations workforce—nearly equal to men—signaling a shift in what leadership looks like. The dinner strengthened ties with media, students, and industry leaders. It also highlighted how Amazon intends to open doors for future generations of women in STEM.
