YouTube channel helps viewers with cool apps

Science & Tech

A YouTube channel is helping viewers learn about the latest mobile apps.

MrApp4That broadcasts low-budget videos introducing and giving tips on a wide range of apps from travel and fitness to work and business.

Rogers Williams, an Atlanta-based videographer and avid YouTuber, says he created the channel to show just how easy it is to get started, and even monetize, on the YouTube platform.

“It’s a channel I started back in 2012 to show my friends just how easy it is to get started on YouTube and grow a channel,” says Williams.

“I’m using free cell phone apps. I’m using a digital pocket camera that I bought for $150 off Amazon. There’s no editing involved. I’m basically doing this on the bare minimum. It’s to show people if you’ve an idea and you’re useful to the world then you can put that out there and be successful.”

His videos are user-friendly and accessible. “I just imagine how I would talk to my friends. How I would explain an app to my friends.”

The channel, which now has nearly 2,000 subscribers and 700,000 views, is primarily for iPhone and Android users who may not want to go all out with customizing their phones but still want to have cool apps to enjoy everyday life.

“Apps enhance your experience with your phone and life in general,” says Rogers who has created several YouTube channels. “I use apps to help me navigate through life. The apps I use are very useful. I use apps for travel. In my business, I use apps to accept credit card payments. I use apps in a very practical way. It makes my life a little easier.”

“One of the apps I love is an app called Transit. Wherever I am, once I chose the location, it shows me if there’s a train or bus nearby or any kind of transportation. It shows me how close or how far away that transportation is. That way I’m never lost in a new city.”
