African-American Leaders in Tech, Innovation & Social Impact converge in NYC

2016 Culture Shifting Weekend at Silicon Valley

Andrea Hoffman, founder and CEO of Culture Shift Labs, will be hosting the 2021 (October's event) Culture Shifting Weekend in Miami

Over the weekend, high-profile movers and shakers in media, business, technology, and entrepreneurship will attend the highly-anticipated Culture Shifting: A Weekend of Technology, Innovation & Social Impact.

Now in its 7th year, the exclusive two-day gathering includes a Social Innovation Think Tank hosted at Ernst & Young LLP’s new Union Square Innovation & Acceleration Lab. The event culminates with Sunday’s Awards Brunch at the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel in New York City.

The invitation-only event is part of a bi-coastal series hosted by Culture Shift Labs (CSL). The NYC-based consultancy firm is a leading advisory to senior leaders and businesses looking to accelerate growth and innovation through diversity and inclusion. Culture Shifting Weekends have also developed a reputation for deal-making opportunities in business and tech, and networking for African-American leaders across industries.

This year’s award honorees include Dr. Lonnie Johnson, Dr. Patricia Era Bath, Freda Lewis-Hall, and John Rice. During the event, the honorees will share stories about their journeys and personal efforts to increase inclusion in innovation and STEM Education at the most senior ranks of top corporations.

There will be a special Q&A with Lonnie Johnson and special remarks by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, Cynthia Erenas (the 17 year old roboticist and protégé of Will.i.am), as well as the winners of Dean Kamen’s FIRST Robotics Competition (who beat out over 20,000 students for this coveted award).

“These highly curated gatherings are the only convenings of its kind in the United States,” said Andrea Hoffman, Founder and CEO of Culture Shift Labs. “We facilitate connections, foster collaborations, and new business opportunities while honoring those who are pushing their respective communities to increase diversity, promote inclusion and deliver innovation.”
