Celebs Turn Out to Support Hidden Figures Screening and Afterparty

Celebrities and social influencers turned out to support the Hidden Figures VIP Screening & Soundtrack Listening Party in Atlanta last week.

Stars who turned out included the film’s soundtrack producer Pharrell Williams and cast member Janelle Monáe. Other notable personalities who showed their support were Usher, Ludacris, Big Krit, DC Young Fly, Jasmine Guy, and many more.

The private screening took place at Regal Atlantic Station followed by the listening party at Mean Street Studios, which was hosted by DJ Drama, Don Cannon, and DJ Sense.

The highly-anticipated movie is the incredible untold story of three African-American female NASA employees who were instrumental in helping America dominate the Space Race against the Soviet Union in the 1960s.

The film highlights the true stories of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer), and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)— who all worked for NASA when the agency was just getting underway.

Notable among the three is Johnson, the brilliant mathematician who calculated the trajectory for Project Mercury and later Apollo 11’s historic 1969 mission to the moon. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire future generations.

Hidden Figures, which also stars Kevin Costner and Kirsten Dunst, will officially be released in U.S. theaters on December 25th.
