Don’t Let Money Hold You Back: Travel Ideas For All Budgets

When you look back on your life when you’re old and grey, you want to do it without regrets. But unfortunately many people aren’t in this position, and research has found that one of the things people regret most when looking back at their life is that they did not travel more. It makes sense, the earth is colossal and when you stay in one place your whole life you miss out on so much. Travel opens your eyes, teaches you about different cultures, religions, you get to see an awe-inspiring landscape and meet new people. There are so many opportunities that come from catching a plane and exploring a foreign place- it’s strange how going far away from home can teach you more about yourself. Whether your budget is big, small or somewhere in between, here are some ideas of how you can make it work for you;

Budget Traveller

Just because you’re on a smaller budget doesn’t mean you can’t see the world. In fact, you should aim to travel despite your smaller budget, you don’t want to look back later in life and regret not seeing the world because money held you back. One cheap way to travel is going backpacking. Here you get to go on an incredible adventure and see a destination in a different way. You’ll be on foot a lot and use public transport. You’ll be staying in travel hostels, eating street food from markets and generally having a completely different experience compared with going on an expensive vacation. But you’ll get to see so much, have fun, meet new people and explore from the ground up. Another option would be to go on a road trip. If you hire an RV or campervan you have your accommodation and vehicle in one. You could sleep in the camper in any safe and legal location along your trip, or you could stay in campsites many of which offer full RV hookups. Some nights you could stay in budget motels, they might not be fancy but it’s a chance to sleep in a real bed and get a shower. If you wanted more of a traditional vacation, you could also look for budget trips and snag yourself a bargain. If you’re flexible about where you will go you could snap up a cancellation or a last-minute deal. Be sure to carefully plan your money, taking into consideration travel costs at your destination, food, attractions and spending money. You might not be able to do everything, but getting out there will still be an incredible experience. Consider cheap and free days out between the attractions and paid activities you have booked. Bike hire at the park, a picnic at the beach, a trip to the museum etc. You don’t need lots of money to have a good time.

Mid Price Traveller

As a mid-price traveler, you generally have your pick of where you can go- even if you can’t go five star or visit the fanciest restaurants or attractions. The key here is to make savings in some areas so you’re able to afford the things you want to do most. A helicopter tour, for example, might be a big part of your budget, but you could balance out the rest of the trip with some less expensive or even free days such as a day relaxing at the beach. Planning is key here, do plenty of research and work out the activities you want to do the most. That way you can work out your budget based on these things. Try and get good deals on things like hotels, flights, excursions and everything else by shopping around and using discount codes were possible.

Luxury Traveller

As a luxury traveler, you have your pick about where you want to go and what you want to do. Whether you’re flying first class or even getting a private jet such as roman abramovich plane, your only real concern is making the most of your time. Because every option will be available to you, you will need to do some planning and research to find the activities, restaurants, hotels, and excursions that most appeal to you. You could hire a private yacht, you could rent a cabin or hotel with your own private beach. You could go on a helicopter or hot air balloon tours, the world is your oyster. Even as a luxury traveler however you won’t want to waste money, so it’s still crucial to work out what you want to do beforehand and the best ways to make the most of your time and money.
