Grammy nominated songstress woos at Being Mary Jane preview party

Stacy Barthe

Singer-songwriter Stacy Barthe wooed crowds yesterday evening at the Being Mary Jane season 2 advance screening party in Atlanta.

The soulful singer captivated the audience with raw and emotional lyrics, interjected with candid comments about her personal struggles.

“I see myself in Mary Jane,” said Barthe, who is the voice of BET’s hit drama Being Mary Jane starring Gabrielle Union. “Most women can relate to it. I got my outfit on but I’m a mess.”

Atlantans spotted in the crowd were “LHHA” star Erica Dixon; “Dish Nation” personality, Gary With Tha Tea; actors, Olrick “OJ” Johnson and Jasmine Burke; filmmaker, Princess Monique; PR mavens, Lillie Mae and April Love; celebrity event planner, Jahmal King; reality star, Sabrina Rowe; and playwright, Chiquita Lockley.

The evening was hosted by comedian and V-103 radio personality Wanda Smith.
