This week BET hosted an intimate luncheon to celebrate the upcoming return of David and Tamela Mann’s reality television series ‘It’s a Mann’s World’.
Held at downtown Atlanta’s TRACE W Hotel, the low-key event attracted handpicked media outlets and celebrity bloggers keen to take a sneak peek of the highly anticipated new show. David and Tamela were also in attendance and watched the screening side-by-side with guests who were provided with a delicious brunch.
Episode 1 didn’t disappoint. The husband and wife duo were hilarious in their dealings with each other and their family.
Still, following the screening in a brief Q&A, gospel singer-actress Tamela admitted filming wasn’t all a bed of roses. “We do have serious moments this season,” she said. “Even things we found out about the girls that we didn’t know.”
This season you can expect The Mann’s to overcome family milestones, expand their celebrity brand, and, most importantly, keep their tight-knit family together with love and bellyaching laughter.
Known for their starring roles on stage and screen, the couple has become household names for their popular show, Meet the Browns. “It’s a Mann’s World” provides gives a view of the couple behind the camera as they juggle celebrity, entrepreneurship, their 26-year-marriage, and parenthood with their four adult children.
“They want you to see you can still have fun, be married, and be faithful to God,” executive producer Roger Bobb of Bobbcat Films said in an interview with UrbanGeekz. “We have a lot more episodes. We’re got ten episodes this season and you are going to get more into the family.”
“You’re going to find out about their extended family. Now this second season, the children are more comfortable. It takes a lot to shoot a reality TV show,” adds Bobb. “The first season we were growing into it. Now that we see what the show is you’ll get the chance to see a more intense relationship between David and Tamela and their children.”
