Technology Makes The World A Safer Place – But More Needs To Be Done

Mobile Spyware App Offers Users Multimedia Monitoring

Tech has changed all of our lives in so many astonishing ways. Now, we are much closer to those who live on the other side of the world from us thanks to apps and programs like Skype and Whatsapp. Meetings that used to take weeks to plan can now take place at only a moment’s notice, and you can instantly chat face-to-face with clients in different countries. Another great tech advancement is that which is still taking place in the health industry. There are now constant new developments in various drugs and medications, and we are now able to treat more diseases than ever before.

But one of the most notable benefits of recent technological developments has to be in the safety industry. Here are some of the things we have tech to thank for.

  • Data encryption – This is an incredibly important part of Internet security for both individuals and businesses, and it goes a long way in preventing hackers and phishers from getting our sensitive information and data. Remote hacking has increased over the past few years but, thanks to efficient data encryption methods, fewer criminals are getting their hands on our data.
  • Online banking – When online banking was first launched, it was met with widespread criticism. Many thought that it was putting people at risk of hackers, and it was widely believed that it would become much easier to steal funds through identity theft. However, all of these fears didn’t actually come true. In fact, online banking has quickly become one of the safest ways to deal with money. These days, thanks to security features like fingerprint recognition, security breaches to online accounts rarely occur.
  • Remote home security – Just a couple of decades ago, the only way to protect your property was to install a burglar alarm or CCTV cameras and hope that these would be enough to deter criminals. Thankfully, things have come on a long way over the past twenty years! Now you can buy alarm and camera systems that can connect to your smartphone via an app. That means you can tune into your home from wherever you may be in the world. If you notice something is up, you can then contact a neighbor to check things out or, better yet, simply call the police straight away.
  • Wireless charging – It used to be dangerous charging up your laptop or cellphone whenever you were in a public place, as reported on http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/electronics/cell-phone-reviews/a42917/never-charge-phone-public-port/. That’s because outlets could be utilized by thieves and hackers to get all of the data stored on your phone. And if you store passwords and security information in your phone, that would give them easy access to all of your accounts. But now, lots of special metal coils have been placed within the facades of buildings and shop fronts. These allow passersby to wirelessly charge their devices. As well as being able to safely charge, it also means you should never end up with a dead battery!

However, there are still many tech areas that could do with some improvement. For instance, studies show that security in the following places could do with some work.

  • Safety In Industrial Industrial Jobs – There are already quite a few safety regulations in place at jobs that involve working with heavy machinery. These include ensuring all employees are fully trained for their machines, wearing safety lanyards, for which you can find out more info at customlanyardscanada.com/multi-safety-lanyards, and effective safety clothing and gear. Unfortunately, even with these regulations in place, there are still many accidents occurring. It is thought that if machine technology were to improve, then safety standards in industrial workplaces would improve significantly.
  • Communications Between Safety Departments – During times of significant emergencies, such as the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centers, it has been discovered that the communications between the different emergency departments weren’t as efficient and effective as it should be. As a result, there have been many reports and studies on the interoperational aspect of these departments. Many experts believe that more technology should be used to help with communications and ensure that the departments can effectively work together and cooperate when needed.
  • Adapting To Constant Change – Over time, our needs change, and there are always new risks posed to our safety as we advance and develop. As a result, there will always be a big need for our safety and security measures to adapt to these changes. The only way we will be able to keep up with all these changes is by making sure that technology is always as advanced as it can be. From individual safety to the security of the general public as a whole, security has to be adaptable for it to be as effective as we need it to be.
  • Improved Rolling News Coverage – Some people think it is a good thing while others aren’t too keen on it, but whatever your view on the modern 24-hour rolling news coverage, it certainly looks like it is here to stay. And this is largely down to social media sites, including Twitter. On Twitter, anyone can break a news story, and it can then quickly spread around the world. But there needs to be a way of preventing any confidential news from traveling too fast. For instance, there have been instances where murders and accidental deaths have been filmed on a smartphone and then uploaded onto social media. This can often be distressing for people to watch. Another criticism is that it speeds up the spread of fake news stories. Many experts are calling on Twitter to clamp down on this type of behavior. But exactly how they will do that hasn’t quite been answered yet.

Now that we are all online, Internet safety and security has become a hot topic. But, as you can see, this isn’t the only area in which we need to improve our security. Thankfully, technology will be able to help make our lives securer as long as it can keep up with the latest trends and developments.
