The Journey with Morgan DeBaun

Morgan DeBaun is an African American serial entrepreneur and corporate advisor. She is the Founder and CEO of Blavity Inc., the leading digital media company for Black culture and millennials. The company acquired Travel Noire, a travel platform for black millennials, and Shadow & Act, a black entertainment news site. 

The Journey is a weekly podcast that delves into the captivating stories of purpose-driven achievers on their quest to live their best lives. She features a diverse lineup of guests, such as Emmy-nominated actors, elite athletes, viral social media influencers, eco-conscious pioneers, and more.

Arlan Hamilton, Your First Million

Arlan Hamilton is an investor, founder, and managing partner of Backstage Capital and HireRunner.co. Backstage Capital was founded in 2015 to invest in founders who are people of color, women, and/or LGBTQ. Arlan is also the founder of HireRunner.co, a startup that connects outstanding employee talent with inclusive companies.

Monrae Tuggle, Ghetto CEO

Monrae Tuggle started her first business, a marketing agency called Rare Necessity Brand Management, in 2013 when she was a sophomore in college. She is the leader of Marketing By Monrae, the dean and president of Millionaire Mob University, and a podcast host and published author. 

The Ghetto CEO podcast takes a raw, unfiltered look at the realities of being a CEO. From the highs to the lows, the podcast provides an honest, relatable look at the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Monrae and her guests share their personal stories, both good and bad, about the challenges and triumphs of being a CEO. 

 

Lamar Tyler, The Traffic Sales and Profit Show

Jamila Souffrant is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI), blogger, podcast host, and money coach. She is considered a go-to thought leader in the personal finance field. Her work has been featured in BuzzFeed, ESSENCE, Refinery 29, Money Magazine, CNBC, CBS, Business Insider, and more. 

The podcast Journey to Launch helps you eliminate debt, save more money, and ultimately increase your net worth to achieve Financial Freedom & Independence. Topics discussed include budgeting, legacy wealth, making money, career, debt, etc.

Nicaila Matthews Okome, Side Hustle Pro

Nicaila Matthews Okome was born in Jamaica and raised in the Bronx. Her professional experience spans digital marketing, ad sales, and social media strategy. She started her marketing career while growing her business and podcast as a side hustle.

Jay Jones, Black Entrepreneur Blueprint

Jay Jones is an entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Black Entrepreneur Blueprint. The difference between this and any other podcast is that it was developed to empower the Black community by supporting Black-owned businesses. 

Jones provides Black entrepreneurs with a blueprint to guide them through developing a successful business. His podcasts share the same purpose as its namesake. It features interviews with established Black entrepreneurs’ successes, failures, and lessons learned.

 

Kim Lewis, More Rounds

Kim Lewis is the CEO and co-founder of CurlMix, a clean beauty brand for curly hair. She and her husband, Tim, showed strong at Shark Tank but turned down a $400,000 Shark deal. Less than six months later, Kim secured a seed investment of $1.2M and multiplied CurlMix’s sales into the millions. She has been featured in numerous publications, including Forbes, Essence, and Black Enterprise.

Dr. Frances Richards, Black Entrepreneur Experience
